THE LONELY ROAD
by: ardyey
I
I started to whisper to myself
This night will be a better night
'Cause I will sleep tight
With my pillow so white
II
But things didn’t came smoothly
As I expected them to be, so I go insane
Asking myself another day
To start for a long sleepless night
III
In a time, I just realized that I was walking
All by myself along the lonely road
Where people of frustrations step into
Where people of high expectations fail
IV
This lonely road that I am passing through
I hope will make me better the way it does to people I knew
Desperations, anger, guilt or longing
Please delete from my heart’s memory
V
So I bow my head, with knees kissing the floor
Pleading to the God Almighty
Please cast this negative feelings out
That I may start a wonderful shout
VI
Show me this lonely road’s end
That I may look upon the silver lining’s den
And rejoice at your presence
With all the angels in the end
I started to whisper to myself
This night will be a better night
'Cause I will sleep tight
With my pillow so white
II
But things didn’t came smoothly
As I expected them to be, so I go insane
Asking myself another day
To start for a long sleepless night
III

PEOPLE LISTEN, HOUSES OPEN
by: Elder Gorriceta
for: Elder Navarro
A walk down the street
Is a stroll down a road
Paved with gold.
People listen.
Houses open.
The seashore sings
Showering the coastline with
Music in her waves.
People listen.
Houses open.
Two brothers arrived,
Speaking with one voice,
Working with one heart.
People listen.
Houses open.
Is a stroll down a road
Paved with gold.
People listen.
Houses open.
The seashore sings
Showering the coastline with
Music in her waves.
People listen.
Houses open.
Two brothers arrived,
Speaking with one voice,
Working with one heart.
People listen.
Houses open.
Elder Gorriceta served his mission in the Philippine Tacloban Mission from 2003 to 2005. At his second to the last area, Borongan, Eastern Samar, he felt that the success of the mission was due to a good companionship. When he got transfered to the Mission Office, he wrote this poem for his companion Elder Navarro. He originally entitled the poem "Nothing Beats Borongan" which best describes his gratefullness to every spiritual success he experienced in this place.
Until today, (Elder) Gorriceta and (Elder) Navarro are good friends and have constant communication with each other.

For a Start
Hi there... Hello here...
These were always the greetings
A smile, a lift of brows, or a wave
These were the usual answers
So today, I say hi and hello
With wave of words for me to show
These were always the greetings
A smile, a lift of brows, or a wave
These were the usual answers
So today, I say hi and hello
With wave of words for me to show
This is the time I am dedicating
Some times of my life endearing
To write some words
With rhyme like chords
I am glad you shared your time
Reading these letters of mine
May you always come back
And give us good luck.
Reading these letters of mine
May you always come back
And give us good luck.
